Improve Maintenance with Flash Alert™
| SenDEC's Flash Alert is a
small investment that can have a big impact on your maintenance program. An
option on SenDEC multifunction meters, Flash Alert helps equipment operators
know when to service and what service to perform. When service is due, the
meter flashes the required maintenance task in alternating sequence with the
normal meter display. There's no better way to extend the operating life and
improve the performance of your equipment.
The Right Service...at the Right Time
Flash Alert gives you the extra measure of confidence
that your valuable equipment will receive required maintenance at the right
time. Only Flash Alert offers these benefits:
-
Flashing service is more noticeable than a static
display.
-
Displays the required task, to make sure that proper
service is performed.
-
Displays at the required interval, to make sure that
service is performed at the correct time.
-
Cost effective way to leverage engine monitoring to
ensure proper maintenance.
Multiple, Programmable Service Alarms
Every meter equipped with Flash Alert allows two
different types of service alarm settings:
Service Alarm 1: If desired, service alarm 1 can
be programmed with a first time break-in interval that is different from all
subsequent alarm 1 intervals. For example, an OEM might want the oil changed
after the first 5 hours of run time, and at 25 hour intervals thereafter.
Service Alarm 2:
For service alarm 2, all intervals must be the same, but they can differ from
those for service alarm 1. For example; service alarm 2 might flash LUBE every
55 hours, while service alarm 1 flashes CHG OIL every 25 hours.

Flash Alerts are factory programmed and can be
configured as automatic or latching. Automatic Flash Alerts notify the user for
a preset interval (in one-hour increments) before and after a specified
duration of engine run time. Latching Flash Alerts begin flashing automatically
but must be reset manually using a SenDEC reset wand.
OEMs ordering in quantities may specify service
intervals, durations of message, and icons to flash per application
requirements.
See the Flash Alert Demo
In this demonstration of an
automatic Flash Alert, the service interval is set to 25 hours of engine run
time. The required maintenance tasks are lubrication and oil change. Therefore,
in this example, the meter flashes LUBE and CHG OIL starting at 24 hours of run
time, and then stops flashing at 26 hours. The meter automatically resets for
the next interval.
