Series 806-10x Tachometer/Hour Meter
Inductive Surface Mount

SenDEC surface mounted, inductive input meters are available in models designed to monitor all types of gasoline-powered engines. These hour meters, with optional tachometer functionality, are also available with SenDEC Flash Alert™ that flashes required maintenance at preset intervals. Epoxy encapsulation protects this meter from shock and vibration and seals out the harshest environments. The self-contained power source ensures continuous display of total run hours or RPM. Installation is quick and easy - simply wrap the pickup wire around the outside of the spark plug wire. Strong pick up reception lets you locate the meter 8 feet (or more) away from the source.

For most opposed twin cylinder engines using single coil (plugs fire 2 times for every 1 rpm).

806-102-0222
*EXCEPTION: Kohler Smart-Spark ignition systems use this model

Flash Alerts will flash automatically at factory set intervals. For most Kohler Command engines using Smart-Spark ignition (all 25 hp Commands and all 22 hp Commands with specification numbers starting at 66500 and 67500) 1 spark = 1 rpm.

806-100-0222

For most single and twin cylinder four-cycle gasoline engines, 1 spark = 1 rpm. *see exception

806-100-1032
most commonly used tachometer/hour meter

Hour meter, tachometer, dual Flash Alerts. Flashes "CHG OIL & LUBE" at 25 Hour intervals with total flash time of 2 hours. For most single and twin four-cycle gasoline engines, 1 spark = 1 rpm. *see exception

806-100-2481

Hour meter, tachometer, dual Flash Alerts. Flashes "CHG OIL" at 99 hour intervals with a total flash time of 4 hours and "LUBE" at 25 hour intervals with a total flash time of 2 hours. For most single (and most twin cylinder) four-cycle gasoline engines equipped with oil filter, 1 spark = 1 rpm. *see exception

Installation

All dimensions in inches. To print figures individually, right-click on the image and save to your local computer.

  1. Find a convenient mounting location. Make sure the pick-up wire will reach the spark plug wire. If not, substitute with a wire of the same outside diameter of no less than 22 gauge, up to 8 feet long. DO NOT mount meter where surface temperature exceeds 125 F. As a general guideline, if you can place your hand on the mounting surface without discomfort while equipment is at full operating temperature, it is okay to mount the meter there.
  2. Use drill template (Fig. 1) to locate mounting holes.

CAUTION: DO NOT DRILL INTO GAS TANKS OR ENGINE CRANKCASE. If in doubt, contact your dealer.

  1. Secure pick-up wire to meter by placing wire over channel and pressing down with a flat screwdriver. Wire must be seated completely in channel (see Fig. 2). Fasten meter to mounting surface with supplied screws. Route wire to spark plug wire and attach as shown in Figure 3.
